Modulus of elacticity

# Modulus of elasticity is the relationship between stress and strain. Where it is denoted with E. Actually it is the slope of the relation between stress and strain. This modulus of elasticity depends upon the rate of application of stresses.

It is noted that elastic modulus it valid in the straight portion of curve as shown in graph.
There are two types of elasticity :
1) static modulus elasticity
2) Dynamic modulus elasticity
# Static modulus of elasticity : The value of modulus of elasticity Ec determined by actual loading of concrete is static modulus of elasticity.
Since the stress, strain modulus is not linear so the folliwing method is illustrated to find out :
1) Initial target modulus.
2) Tangent modulus
3) Secant modulus
4) Chord modulus
# Dynamic modulus of elasticity :
It can be calculated by

  Ed = kn^2L^2*density os concrete
